Canberra
Australia’s capital city is home to more than 300,000 people. The city has evolved over an 80-year period making it a relative newcomer in the world of capitals. The National Capital Authority of the Australian Government claims that “Canberra is the symbolic home of all Australians. It reflects the attitudes, status and symbolism of Australian society, Australian culture and Australian diversity”. The city is home to many national attractions including Parliament House, the National Library, the National Gallery, the National Museum of Australia, and the High Court of Australia. Canberra is in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) surrounded by New South Wales. It is 150 kilometres inland, 281 kilometres from Sydney and 660 kilometres from Melbourne.

Melbourne
